Hydration is an important element to our Cryoskin treatments as well as your overall health. In our hot and humid Florida summer conditions, hydration is particularly important. There are many different expert opinions on hydration depending on who you ask but would like to share just a few that have worked well for our clients:
1. Trust your body and when it tells you its thirsty --- Drink! A good way to do that is to keep a bottle of water with you during the day for convenience. Use a reusable water bottle and top it off when convenient. It's also better for the environment than plastic single use bottles. There are some really great ones available now that will keep your water cool for a day or longer.
2. If you do not like the taste of plain water, try adding a slice of lemon, lime, or another type of fruit to your drink.
3. Be sure to drink water before, during, and after a workout or Cryoskin treatment.
4. When you are feeling hungry, drink water. Thirst is often confused with hunger. True hunger will not be satisfied by drinking water.
There is no magic guide to tell you how much water you should drink as that depends on a variety of factors, however, The Mayo Clinic suggests as a general rule:
About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids for men per day
About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women per day
Your diet also contributes to your hydration because different foods and beverages contribute to our your overall hydration. One thing is certain, the more water you drink, the better you will feel AND look! Be smart and listen to your body.
